Rhythms Foundation Programs |
The "graying" of America's population has attracted more and more seniors to community residences that provide security, comfort and activities. NRF has enjoyed great successes by providing a program format suitable for the residents to come together in an environment that promotes community, fun, stimulation and well being.
Assisted living facilities provide special assistance to individuals who are physically healthy and active and emphasize independence of older adults. Some facilities meet the special needs of those with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias, based on a social model rather than a medical one. Because "the moment" is all that people dealing with issues such as dementia have, NRF programs promoted individual successes and help to keep interest and quality of life as high as possible.
Adult
day service programs provide social activities and health services
to a diverse population both in age and in condition. Clients range
from young adults to people in their 90's with diagnoses including
stroke, heart ailments, dementia and mental illness. NRF has developed
programs designed to meet the needs of this population. In addition
to enjoying the drumming, participants are stimulated and challenged
and get a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
