New
Rhythms Foundation Programs |
Because of many requests to initiate new programs and provide facilitators, NRF has successfully sponsored its first facilitators training workshop. Arthur Hull, recognized as the 'father' of the drum circle movement and author of the Book/CD Drum Circle Spirit, led a weekend intensive workshop for over 50 enthusiastic participants. Participants were taught basic facilitation skills. NRF is now mentoring its first wave of facilitators who wish to replicate the NRF programs.
In keeping with the mission of NRF, intergenerational programs are also conducted. Emphasis is on increasing contact between the generations, with particular focus on the honoring of elders, their histories and experiences. Children also serve to enliven the spirits of seniors and bring joy to their hearts.
Drumming
is especially effective in working with special populations such
as individuals dealing with Autism and other neurological challenges. NRF programs
encourage attention and participation and help create a sense of
community in people who are too isolated and unable to express themselves
verbally.
NRF has made numerous presentations at professional workshops of all kinds. Since spirit is such a large component of our work, many religious organizations have also benefited from these events.
